Belated new year greetings. The festive season is almost over for most today. Despite 6 January being not till Tuesday, I have taken down the tree and tomorrow begins this first normal working week of the year.

Managed to watch by secret means the pilot/first episode of the new CBS series Elementary, starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu. I must say that it was a lot of fun, but bore very little relation to canon Sherlock Holmes - which is probably a good thing as it keeps the BBC Sherlock team off their backs.

Decided that the time was right this evening to watch Rupert Everett as Sherlock Holmes, in the 2004 BBC film for television, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking.

His Watson is Ian Hart, reprising the role from a 2002 television version of The Hound of the Baskervilles (with Richard Roxburgh), which I have seen many times. I like Ian ( Read more... )
